Dating back to the team in 1961, the Nationals name itself comes from that history. That year, the team was renamed the Nationals after their sponsor, the Canadian National Recreation Association – an organization of Canadian National Railway employees. The name reflected the hard-working, blue-collar spirit of railway workers and the local community they represented. Bringing that history back to life, the new logo pays homage to where it all began—on the tracks.
This transformation comes under the new ownership of Brenda and Dean Pomerleau, a hockey-loving family with deep appreciation for the game and a commitment to building something lasting in London. Hockey runs in their blood, and this rebrand is a reflection of their passion—not only for the sport but also for the people in the stands and across the city. Their goal is to reignite the connection between the Nationals and the London community.
